Shocker Racing first met Cassidy a few months back on good old Instagram. Cassidy owns Cnorr Vinyl, a sticker and apparel company that had been popping up around the automotive community on IG. After sharing a few of her photos on the @ShockerRacing IG page, Cass contacted us about what it would take to be one of the official #ShockerRacingGirls. We discussed the details and began searching for a photographer and a car to work with in the Pittsburgh area. Finding a photographer ended up being the easy part as Shelby, aka @AShelbyCobraGirl, set us up with Fred Jennings. Fred was highly recommended by Shelby, as she explained that he was really easy to work with and that he was especially helpful for models with little to no experience. The hardest part of making this whole shoot happen was finding the right car. We had quite a few nice cars submitted as possibilities for the shoot but none of them felt quite right. I wanted to see something different, something that we had not shot with before and don't see a lot of. Fred, Cass and I were all using our resources to see what we could come up with and finally Cass found the winner. Cassidy had found someone who put us in touch with Paul who owns this beautiful Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster...
Thanks to our friend Kyrie(aka Miss4V) we were inspired to run a T-Shirt Giveaway on Instagram to our favorite entry into the Shocker Racing Halloween Contest. We are encouraging the lovely ladies of IG to take photos in their Halloween Costumes with their car and post them on Instagram with the hashtag ShockerRacingHalloween. On November 2nd, we will select our favorite entry to win a ShockerRacing T-Shirt. The entries are starting to roll in and we are really loving the creativity you ladies have been coming up with for your entries! When we first came across Taylor's Instagram page we noticed that her Mustang wasn't just your typical young girls V6 Mustang. Her 2005 Ford Mustang was a GT Convertible that stood apart from the rest with a custom body kit. Taylor tells us that it has an Eleanor front Fascia and Side Skirts, a Roush Spoiler, and a Truair Ram Air Hood. She added Ruff Racing R280 20" Wheels along with gen 5 taillights to round out the exterior look. Back in July, we ran a ShockerRacing TShirt Giveaway contest on Instagram. Taylor was chosen as the lucky winner! Once she received her shirt, she shared a photo repping ShockerRacing.com with her Mustang and we decided it was time for Taylor to be featured...
I missed having a featured ride article for the month of July as there was so much going on and I was unable to coordinate a shoot with one of our amazing photographers but I promise we will make up for it in August! We were contacted a few weeks ago by a beautiful model named Rikki and scheduled a Dan Joy Photoshoot with her for Saturday, August 2nd. We were locked in to be shooting with Turk's 2012 Audi R8 and Mook's 1998 Supra. Everything was set for the shoot as we had locked down a great garage to shoot in, but we contacted Rikki a couple of days before the shoot to confirm and received no response. As it was getting later and later on the Friday before the shoot we began to panic as we had still not heard from the model. Then at about 7:00pm Friday evening a family member of Rikki's contacted us to let us know that she had a health issue and was going to be in the hospital over the weekend. We were saddened to hear this news and we hope she is doing well as we have not heard any further details. Being that the stars had all aligned to get the location, photographer and cars scheduled, the shoot had to go on and we scrambled to find a replacement model. In stepped the beautiful Angela Angelovska whom we had the pleasure of working with just a couple months ago. We contacted Angela and she just happened to have a few hours on Saturday free to come to Chicago.
Stephani, aka Chromalusion Photography, contacted us shortly before her and her husband were planning to head to Mustang Week 2014. She informed us that they were going to be taking their pair of Mustangs down to Myrtle Beach and would be setting up some photoshoots. This turned out to be a great opportunity to show off some of the ShockerRacing.com Gear that we had sent to Stephani. The first batch of photos we have received from Stephani feature the beautiful Kyrie Rinehart aka Miss4v aka #datass with a handful of beautiful Mustangs!
Early in May, I received an email from a person named Darrian who was interested in having their 2013 ZL1 Camaro featured on ShockerRacing.com. I asked for some photos and some more details about the car and what mods had been done to the car. Darrian sent me some pics of the black fifth generation ZL1 Camaro and explained that it was stock. I thought to myself, where is the story here? Yes, the ZL1 Camaro is potent in stock form being powered by the supercharged and intercooled 6.2-liter overhead valve LSA V-8 from GM. It's rocking 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque and will hit 0-60 in 4.2 seconds but you can read about that and see pics in any Road and Track or Motor Trend magazine. I was then informed that Darrian had a photoshoot scheduled with none other than Goyk Photo and that SHE was a member of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Indy Girls Team! I began to put the puzzle pieces together and found out that Darrian Arch was also Miss Indiana Teen USA for 2013.
ShockerRacing began working on picking a featured ride for the month of May just hours after getting off the phone with SR member C5Z06SpeedJon. Jon had called to discuss his latest plan to supercharge his Electron Blue 2002 Corvette Z06. When we starting considering our options for the Featured Ride, we realized that SR now had three boosted Electron Blue Z06 Corvettes in the club all that would be pushing 700 plus horsepower(Spdkilz, Smoothblue, C5Z06SpeedJon). All three Vettes are similar with color, power, and attitude but that's where the similarities end. They are each uniquely different and each of the three has its own story to tell. Once deciding to feature all three of the boosted Vettes, we contacted our friend Dan from Dan Joy Photography(www.facebook.com/DanJoyPhoto) to do the shoot and began our model search. We posted on Instagram(IG @ShockerRacing) and on Facebook(www.facebook.com/shockerracing) looking for models and at first we did not have the response we were looking for. Then a couple of weeks later, we received an email from Angela(IG @AngelaAngelovska) with some headshots. After reviewing her info, we decided that she was perfect for what we had in mind... and it didn't hurt that she owned a 5th Generation Camaro as well! We starting thinking that we were going to need a second model since we were going to be shooting with three vehicles and thought that adding a blonde would be a nice contrast to Angela's striking brown hair. Randomly, Angela emailed us asking if she could bring her best friend along to shoot with her. After seeing her friend, Chloe's(IG @Chloe_NH), headshots we decided that she was the perfect blonde to complement Angela and these beautiful boosted C5's.
