Kasey Hawkins returns with Forest Byrd's Scion FR-S - RIP

Kasey Hawkins with Forest's FRS by Chromalusion Photography Kasey Hawkins and Chromalusion Photography have been killing the game lately. This dynamic duo has been pairing up to shoot with all sorts of hot cars including Forest Byrd's Turbo Scion FR-S. In fact, one of the photos from this shoot landed Kasey as Miss May in the 2017 ShockerRacingGirls Calendar! Kasey tells us, "Forest's car was definitely a standout, since I've been particularly into imports lately." She continued, "this was one of my favorite shoots so far." Forest and Stephani from Chromalusion Photography put the shoot together at an industrial park in Franklin, NC. Unfortunately, this story has a sad ending... Shortly after this photoshoot the FR-S was totaled!

Forest brought his 2013 Scion FR-S straight from a track day at Road Atlanta to meet up with Kasey and Chromalusion Photography. "I was freaking out because there were marks on the windshield where pieces of rubber from the car in front of me had hit my windshield. And the interior was full of rubber particles and track dust," laughed Forest.

This Scion was fitted with a Full Blown Motorsports Turbo Kit with an upgraded Garrett GTX2867R. It also featured an FBM Catch Can, an ACT 6 Puck heavy duty clutch with a lightweight flywheel, and had the engine tuning done through ECUTEK at DBW Motorsports. This helped this FR-S make over 300 rear wheel horsepower and 270 rear wheel torque.

For track duty, Forest added some aero and suspension mods to keep the Scion planted to the track. The suspension mods included a set of RS-R Sport i Coilovers and SPL rear lower control arms. For better aero the FR-S featured a Street Faction Engineering chassis mounted rear wing, and a Velox Motorsports front splitter with a race upgrade.

Here's that sad part of the story... after Forest has spent so much time and effort setting up this car for street and track duty it all went down the drain in a split second. He was driving along when a deer ran out in front of him... he swerved to avoid the deer but ended up running off the road! The car hit the dirt embankment and rolled over! Luckily, Forest was ok after the accident but unfortunately the Scion didn't make it. The car has been totaled out and has since been replaced with a 2005 Honda S2000. Mr. Byrd has wasted no time getting to work on his new build with the S2000. Hopefully, once he has it dialed in we will bring you another new photoshoot!
